Marvel Rivals Reveals Daredevil Gameplay
On October 1, Marvel Rivals shared the first snippets of gameplay for Daredevil, The Man Without Fear, who will arrive as a playable Duelist in Season 4.5. Daredevil’s primary kit in Marvel Rivals will allow him to focus on a single enemy with his senses and chase them down with a flurry of close-range strikes from his billy clubs.
Daredevil, also known as attorney Matt Murdock, is a vigilante who gained his powers via a childhood accident. After some chemicals physically blinded him, Daredevil’s other senses were heightened, which he utilizes to combat the criminal underworld of New York City. Some of Daredevil’s recurring foes include the marksman Bullseye and the crime lord Kingpin, with the latter also being a rival to Spider-Man. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Daredevil is portrayed by Charlie Cox in the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again. The show will air a second season starting in March 2026, as part of the MCU’s upcoming sixth phase.
Marvel Rivals Reveals Daredevil's Playstyle
With Daredevil set to arrive in Marvel Rivals Season 4.5 on Friday, October 10, developer NetEase Games gave players a look at what The Man Without Fear can do on the battlefield. Daredevil’s first ability is called Sonic Pursuit, which is bound to the F key by default on keyboard and mouse. Sonic Pursuit focuses Daredevil’s senses on a single enemy target, granting him vision through obstacles and terrain. After using his billy clubs with Left-Shift to close the gap, Daredevil can follow up with the Left-Click ability Righteous Cross. Pressing Right-Click allows Daredevil to combine his billy clubs into nunchucks for a short time. Daredevil can then toss them at enemy heroes with his E key ability, which can then ricochet to nearby targets. For his Ultimate ability, Daredevil taps into the power of The Beast and can unleash increased damage against his Sonic Pursuit target.
Marvel Rivals‘ interpretation of Daredevil is intrinsically tied to the story of Season 4, Heart of the Dragon. After Daredevil defeated The Beast and harnessed its power, a captive entity named Yinglong offered Daredevil a way to channel it. Daredevil then traveled to the prison realm known as the Eighth City and transformed it into a refuge under his watch. This power put Daredevil into conflict with Angela, an angelic Asgardian who arrived in Marvel Rivals during the start of Season 4.
Although Daredevil’s role as a Duelist received a mixed response from Marvel Rivals players, The Man Without Fear will be the game’s 21st hero to fulfill that role. It remains to be seen how Daredevil’s kit will fit into the Marvel Rivals meta come October 10.
